DAHER (Type Certificate Previously Held by SOCATA) Airplanes
Requires actions to address the unsafe condition on these products.
Full official abstract
Airworthiness Directives; SOCATA Airplanes
We are superseding airworthiness directive (AD) 92-06-10 for SOCATA Models MS 880B, MS 885, MS 892A-150, MS 892E-150, MS 893A, MS 893E, MS 894A, MS 894E, Rallye 100S, Rallye 150ST, Rallye 150T, Rallye 235E, and Rallye 235C airplanes. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as fatigue failure of the nose landing gear wheel axle. We are issuing this AD to require actions to address the unsafe condition on these products.

Airworthiness Directives; DAHER (Type Certificate Previously Held by SOCATA) Airplanes
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2016-08-08 for all SOCATA (type certificate now held by DAHER) Model MS 880B, MS 885, MS 892A-150, MS 892E-150, MS 893A, MS 893E, MS 894A, MS 894E, Rallye 100S, Rallye 150ST, Rallye 150T, Rallye 235C, and Rallye 235E airplanes. AD 2016-08-08 required doing repetitive detailed visual inspections of the intersection between the axle radius and the nose landing gear (NLG) fork area for chafing; doing repetitive dye penetrant inspections on the NLG wheel axle for cracks, distortion, and nicks or wear; doing corrective actions if necessary; and replacing the NLG wheel axle attachment screws with new screws. This AD is prompted by the introduction of a new inspection method and a new design for the affected NLG wheel axle that provides terminating action for the repetitive inspections, as specified in updated service information published by the manufacturer. This AD requires preparing, inspecting, replacing, reconditioning the NLG wheel axle, and prohibiting affected parts. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

Airworthiness Directives; SOCATA-Groupe AEROSPATIALE Models MS 892A-150, MS 892E-150, MS 893A, MS 893E, MS 894A, MS 894E, Rallye 150T, and Rallye 150ST Airplanes
This amendment supersedes Airworthiness Directive (AD) 77-15- 06, which applies to all SOCATA--Groupe AEROSPATIALE (Socata) Models MS 892A-150, MS 892E-150, MS 893A, MS 893E, Rallye 150T, and Rallye 150ST airplanes. AD 77-15-06 currently requires you to repetitively inspect the engine mount assembly for cracks, repair any cracks found, and modify the brackets on airplanes with right angle engine mounts. This AD is the result of the French airworthiness authority's determination that updated service information and additional aircraft should be added to the applicability of AD 77-15-06. This AD retains the inspection and repair requirements of the current AD and adds the information communicated by the French airworthiness authority. The actions specified by this AD are intended to detect and correct cracks in the engine mount assembly. Such a condition could cause the engine mount assembly to fail, which could result in loss of control of the airplane.

Airworthiness Directives; Socata-Groupe Aerospatiale Models MS 892A-150, MS 892E-150, MS 893A, MS 893E, MS 894A, MS 894E, Rallye 150T, and Rallye 150ST Airplanes
This amendment supersedes Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2002- 05-04, which applies to certain Socata--Groupe Aerospatiale (Socata) Models MS 892A-150, MS 892E-150, MS 893A, MS 893E, MS 894A, MS 894E, Rallye 150T, and Rallye 150ST airplanes. AD 2002-05-04 requires you to repetitively inspect any engine mount assembly that is not part number 892-51-0-035-0 (or FAA-approved equivalent part number) for cracks; repair cracks that do not exceed a certain length; and replace the engine mount when the cracks exceed a certain length and cracks are found on an engine mount that already has been repaired twice. This AD is the result of the French airworthiness authority's determination that airplanes equipped with an engine mount assembly part number 892- 51-0-035-0 also display the unsafe condition. This AD retains the repetitive inspection and repair requirements of AD 2002-05-04, changes the applicability section, removes the terminating action, and requires replacement of all part number 892-51-0-035-0 engine mount assemblies. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent failure of the engine mount assembly. Such failure could result in loss of control of the airplane.

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to all SOCATA--Groupe AEROSPATIALE (Socata) Models MS 880B, MS 885, MS 892A-150, MS 892E-150, MS 893A, MS 893E, MS 894A, MS 894E, Rallye 100S, Rallye 150T, Rallye 150ST, Rallye 235C, and Rallye 235E airplanes. This AD requires you to repetitively inspect, and, if necessary, replace elevator clevis and rudder governor control clevis that are too thin. This AD is the result of mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the airworthiness authority for France. The actions specified in this AD are intended to correct rudder and elevator control clevis that are too thin because of abnormal wear, with consequent failure of the rudder and elevator clevis. Such failure could lead to loss of directional or pitch control.
