The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Technify Motors GmbH TAE 125-02-99 and TAE 125-02-114 model reciprocating engines. This AD was prompted by a report of a defective turbocharger hose discovered on an airplane during a pre-flight inspection. This AD requires the removal and replacement of the affected turbocharger hose. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Technify Motors GmbH TAE 125-02 reciprocating engines. This AD requires replacement of the clutch with a dual mass flywheel. This AD requires installation of a start phase monitoring system and associated specified software. This AD was prompted by reports of a gearbox drive shaft breaking during starting or restarting of the engine. AD 2011-23-01 required replacement of certain P/N and S/N clutch assemblies. This AD requires the same actions but expands the population of affected P/N and S/N clutch assemblies. This AD was prompted by an additional report of a clutch assembly that malfunctioned due to disk springs that received a nonconforming heat treatment process. We are issuing this AD to prevent failure of the clutch assembly, which could lead to failure of the engine, in-flight shutdown, and loss of control of the airplane.

This AD requires removal of each high-pressure (HP) fuel pump before 300 flight hours (FHs) in service or within 55 FHs after the effective date of the AD, whichever occurs later. This AD was prompted by in-flight shutdowns on airplanes with TAE 125-02 engines. We are issuing this AD to prevent failure of the HP fuel pump, which could result in damage to the engine and damage to the airplane.

We are revising an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for TAE models TAE 125-01 and TAE 125-02-99 reciprocating engines installed on, but not limited to, Diamond Aircraft Industries Model DA 42 airplanes. That AD currently requires initial and repetitive replacements of proportional pressure reducing valves (PPRVs) (also known as propeller control valves). This new AD relaxes the repetitive replacement interval from a 300-hour interval to a 600-hour interval for PPRVs, P/N 05-7212-E002801, on TAE 125-02-99 engine. This AD was prompted by TAE increasing the life of the PPRV, part number (P/N) 05- 7212-E002801, on TAE 125-02-99 engines from 300 to 600 hours. We are issuing this AD to prevent engine in-flight shutdown, possibly resulting in reduced control of the aircraft.

The FAA is correcting airworthiness directive (AD) 2010-11-09, which published in the Federal Register. That AD applies to TAE models TAE 125-01 and TAE 125-02-99 reciprocating engines, installed in, but not limited to, Diamond Aircraft Industries model DA 42 airplanes. The part number for engine model TAE 125-01 is missing a digit in paragraph (c) and in paragraph (e)(3). This document corrects those part numbers. In all other respects, the original document remains the same.
A correction restates part of an AD that was published incorrectly. It is
not an additional requirement and it does not change the AD number or its effective date.
