Raytheon Aircraft Company Model 58P, 60, A60, B60, and 65-88 Airplanes

Requires you to install new exterior operating instruction placards for the exit doors.

Airworthiness Directives; Raytheon Aircraft Company Model 58P, 60, A60, B60, and 65-88 Airplanes

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain Raytheon Aircraft Company (Raytheon) Model 58P, 60, A60, B60, and 65-88 airplanes. This AD requires you to install new exterior operating instruction placards for the exit doors. This AD is the result of Raytheon improving the visibility and understandability of the door operating instruction placards. This was done as a result of difficulty opening the emergency exits of a similar type design airplane. The actions specified by this AD are intended to assure that clear and complete operating instructions are visible for opening the emergency exit doors. If not visible and understandable, this could result in the inability to open the exit door during an emergency situation.

Raytheon Aircraft Company Beech Models 60, A60, and B60 Airplanes

Requires you to inspect for the existence of any lower forward wing bolts with the Mercury Aerospace trademark, and replace any such bolt with an FAA-approved bolt without this trademark.

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain Raytheon Aircraft Company (Raytheon) Beech Models 60, A60, and B60 airplanes. This AD requires you to inspect for the existence of any lower forward wing bolts with the Mercury Aerospace trademark, and replace any such bolt with an FAA-approved bolt without this trademark. This AD is the result of a report that wing bolts supplied by Mercury Aerospace may not meet the required Rockwell hardness specifications. The actions specified by this AD are intended to detect and correct wing bolts that do not meet strength requirements. Continued airplane operation with such bolts could result in fatigue failure of the bolts with consequent separation of the wing from the airplane.

Raytheon Aircraft Company Beech Model 60 Airplanes

Requires modifying the aircraft cabin heat control wiring.

Full official abstract

Airworthiness Directives; Raytheon Aircraft Company Beech Model 60 Airplanes

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain Raytheon Aircraft Company (Raytheon) Beech Model 60 airplanes. This AD requires modifying the aircraft cabin heat control wiring. This AD is the result of an incident on one of the affected airplanes where the circuit control that operates the aircraft cabin heater overheated and caused the cabin heater to shut down during in- flight operation. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent this circuit from overheating because of the current wiring design, which could result in possible smoke/fire if the heating system continued to operate in an ``over-temperature'' condition.

Beech Aircraft Corporation Models 60 and A60 Airplanes

Requires incorporating flight manual supplement revisions into the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) that would specify a minimum airspeed for operating the affected airplanes in icing conditions.

Full official abstract

Airworthiness Directives; Beech Aircraft Corporation Models 60 and A60 Airplanes

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to Beech Aircraft Corporation (Beech) Models 60 and A60 airplanes. This action requires incorporating flight manual supplement revisions into the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) that would specify a minimum airspeed for operating the affected airplanes in icing conditions. Reports of several incidents and accidents on the affected airplanes related to flight in icing conditions prompted the proposed action. The actions specified by the proposed AD are intended to prevent loss of control of the airplane because of the airplane traveling too slowly in icing conditions.
