The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Textron Aviation Inc. (Textron) (type certificate previously held by Beechcraft Corporation) Models F90, 65-90, 65-A90, B90, C90, H90 (T-44A), E90, 65-A90-1 (JU-21A, U-21A, RU-21A, RU-21D, U-21G, RU- 21H), 65-A90-2 (RU-21B), 65-A90-3 (RU-21C), 65-A90-4 (RU-21E, RU-21H), 99, 99A, 99A (FACH), A99, A99A, B99, C99, 100, A100 (U-21F), and B100 airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports of fatigue cracks in the lower forward wing fitting. This AD requires a one-time inspection for the presence of washer part number (P/N) 90-380058-1 on the left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) lower forward wing bolt and, if applicable, removing washer P/N 90-380058-1, inspecting the wing fitting, bolt, and nut, replacing the wing fitting if it is cracked, and replacing the washer with washer P/N 90-380019-1. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

Airworthiness Directives; Raytheon Aircraft Company 65, 90, 99, and 100 Series Airplanes

We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) that supersedes AD 92-07-05, which applies to certain Raytheon Aircraft Company (Raytheon) (formerly Beech) 65, 90, 99, and 100 series airplanes. AD 92-07-05 currently requires you to inspect the rudder trim tab for proper moisture drainage provisions, and if the correct drainage provisions do not exist, before further flight, modify the rudder trim tab. This AD results from receiving and evaluating new service information that requires the actions of AD 92-07-05 for the added serial numbers LJ-1281 through LJ-1732 for the Model C90A airplanes. This AD retains all the actions of AD 92-07-05 and adds serial numbers LJ-1281 through LJ-1732 for the Model C90A airplanes in the applicability section. We are issuing this AD to prevent water accumulation in the rudder trim tab, which could result in a change in the mass properties and possibly a lower flutter speed of the airplane. A lower airplane flutter speed could result in failure and loss of control of the airplane.

Airworthiness Directives; Raytheon Aircraft Company Model B100 Airplanes

The FAA adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Raytheon Aircraft Company (Raytheon) Model B100 airplanes. This AD requires you to drill holes in the hot lip tube "B" nuts, tighten the "B" nuts to specified torque ranges, and secure the "B" nuts with safety wire. This AD is the result of reports of loose "B" nuts on the engine inlet that may loosen and permit a leak in the engine inlet anti-ice system. We are issuing this AD to detect and correct loose "B" nuts on the engine inlet, which could result in failure of the engine inlet anti-ice system and consequent ice buildup. This failure and ice buildup could lead to an engine's ingestion of ice with loss of engine power or loss of engine.

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain Raytheon Aircraft Company (Raytheon) 200, 300, and 1900 series, and Models F90 and A100-1 airplanes. This AD requires you to check the airplane logbook to determine if the elevator(s) has/have been removed from the airplane. If the elevator(s) has/have been removed, this AD also requires you to inspect the elevator balance weight attachment screws for correct length, and, if necessary, install new bolts that are of improved design and rebalance the elevator, depending on the results of the inspection. This AD is the result of the elevator balance weight attachment screws and balance weights being improperly installed when balancing the elevator after it had been removed for repair or repainting. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent the balance weight attachment screws from becoming loose. Loose screws could come into contact and interfere with the horizontal stabilizer. This interference could restrict elevator movement and result in loss of elevator pitch control.

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to Hartzell Propeller Inc. Model HC-B4TN-3/ T10173F(N)(B,K)-12.5 and HC-B4TN-3A/T10173F(N)(B,K)-12.5 propellers installed on Beech A100 and A100A aircraft. This action requires an initial and repetitive inspections, and specified rework or retirement, as necessary, of the propeller hub assemblies and propeller blades. This amendment is prompted by a determination that the current hub design and blade repair limits do not adequately protect against initiation of fatigue cracks in the propeller hub arm bore and do not prevent the resonant speed of the propeller from shifting into the permitted ground idle operating range. The actions specified in this AD are intended to prevent initiation of fatigue cracks in the propeller hub arm bore and subsequent progression to failure, with departure of the hub arm and blade, that may result in loss of aircraft control.
