Airworthiness Directives; Pacific Aerospace Limited Airplanes

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Pacific Aerospace Limited Model 750XL airplanes. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) originated by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI identifies the unsafe condition as insufficient separation of ground terminations for individual power sources and static grounds. This AD requires inspecting and separating, if applicable, the battery and generator common ground connections on the airframe. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

Airworthiness Directives; Pacific Aerospace Corporation Ltd. Model 750XL Airplanes

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Pacific Aerospace Corporation (PAC) Ltd. Model 750XL airplanes. This AD contains the same information as emergency AD 2005-26-53 and publishes the action in the Federal Register. This AD requires you to insert text into the Limitations Section of the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) that reduces the maximum takeoff weight from 7,500 pounds to 7,125 pounds. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the airworthiness authority for New Zealand. We are issuing this AD to reduce the maximum takeoff weight that will allow wing ultimate load requirements to be met. If wing ultimate load requirements are not met, wing failure could result and subsequent loss of control of the airplane.

Airworthiness Directives; Pacific Aerospace Corporation Ltd. 750XL Airplanes

We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) that supersedes AD 2005-26-53, which applies to certain Pacific Aerospace Corporation Ltd. (PAC) 750XL airplanes. AD 2005-26-53 currently requires you to insert text into the Limitations Section of the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) that reduces the maximum takeoff weight from 7,500 pounds to 7,125 pounds. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the airworthiness authority for New Zealand and the FAA's decision that the actions correct an unsafe condition. Consequently, this AD would require you to remove rivets that have not been fully age hardened and replace them with bolts, washers, and nuts in specific locations where reduction in rivet strength affects overall structural capability. This AD retains the actions of the previous AD until the rivets are replaced with the bolts, washers, and nuts. We are issuing this AD so that wing ultimate load requirements are met. If wing ultimate load requirements are not met, wing failure could result with consequent loss of control of the airplane.

Airworthiness Directives; Pacific Aerospace Limited Airplanes

We are superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2006-13-05 for certain Pacific Aerospace Limited Model 750XL (type certificate previously held by Pacific Aerospace Corporation Ltd.) airplanes. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as some critical rivets on the wing not being fully age-hardened and being installed in specific locations where reduction in rivet strength reduces wing strength. We are issuing this AD to require actions to address the unsafe condition on these products.

This document makes a correction to Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2007-17-03, which was published in the Federal Register on August 21, 2007 (72 FR 46541), and applies to certain Pacific Aerospace Corporation Ltd Model 750XL airplanes. AD 2007-17-03 requires inspecting the inboard end of the rear spar for security of the blind rivets, inspecting the radii of the rear spar upper and lower flanges for cracking, inspecting the aft flange of the inboard rib for cracking, replacing the rear spar if cracks are found in any of the inspections, and replacing rear spar blind rivets with bolts or rivets. The paragraph following the section heading Materials Incorporated by Reference does not have a paragraph designator. This document corrects that paragraph by inserting the paragraph designator "(i)" preceding the paragraph text.

This AD requires you to inspect the condition of the insulation of the wiring adjacent to the electrical plugs mounted in the left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) sides of the forward end of the cockpit center console for signs of abrasion and arcing. If you find any evidence of abrasion or arcing, this AD requires you to replace the affected wire(s) and secure the wires away from the back shells of the electrical plugs. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the airworthiness authority for New Zealand. We are issuing this AD to detect and correct damaged wires on the LH and RH sides of the forward end of the cockpit center console, which could result in short-circuiting of the related wiring. This could lead to electrical failure of affected systems and potential fire in the cockpit.

This AD requires you to replace any type TLP-D or TLED rivets on the aileron pushrod ends and elevator control pushrod ends. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the airworthiness authority for New Zealand. We are issuing this AD to replace the above identified rivets on the aileron pushrod ends and elevator control pushrod ends, which, if not replaced, could result in loose mechanical elements in the control systems. This could lead to control anomalies and loss of airplane control.

Airworthiness Directives; Pacific Aerospace Corporation, Ltd. Models FU24-954 and FU24A-954 Airplanes

The FAA adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Pacific Aerospace Corporation, Ltd. Models FU24-954 and FU24A-954 airplanes. This AD requires you to perform repetitive detailed visual inspections of the forward vertical fin base for cracks. If any cracks or discrepancies are found, you must repair the structure before further flight and notify the FAA. This AD is the result of mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the airworthiness authority for New Zealand. We are issuing this AD to detect and correct cracks in the vertical fin base, which could result in loss of the fin and loss of aircraft control.
