AD 98-06-03 63 FR 11821

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain EXTRA Flugzeugbau GmbH (EXTRA) Model EA-300 airplanes. This AD requires removing the elevator mass balance assemblies and replacing them with reinforced elevator mass balance assemblies of improved design. This AD is the result of mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by the airworthiness authority for Germany. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent damage and possible jamming of the airplane's control system, which, if not corrected, could cause loss of control of the airplane.
