The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam S.P.A. (Tecnam) Model P2010 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of unrecoverable loss of engine power. This AD requires repetitive detailed borescope inspections (BSIs) of the exhaust muffler flame tube and, depending on the results, repair of the exhaust muffler flame tube. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
