This AD was prompted by the in-flight break-up of a Model T210M airplane in Australia, due to fatigue cracking that initiated at a corrosion pit, and subsequent corrosion reports on other Model 210- and 177-series airplanes. This AD requires visual and eddy current inspections of the carry-thru spar lower cap for corrosion, cracking, and damage; corrective action if necessary; application of a protective coating and corrosion inhibiting compound (CIC); and reporting the inspection results to the FAA. We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for Cessna 206, 207, and 210 airplanes with Hartzell Engine Technologies (HET) turbochargers, part numbers (P/Ns) 406610-0005 and 406610-9005, installed. This emergency AD was sent previously to all known U.S. owners and operators of these airplanes. This AD requires removing the affected turbochargers from service before further flight. This AD was prompted by a report of an HET turbocharger causing an engine in-flight power rollback. We are issuing this AD to prevent turbocharger bearing seizure, failed turbocharger components, and damage to the airplane.

We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Cessna Aircraft Company Models 210G, T210G, 210H, T210H, 210J, T210J, 210K, T210K, 210L, T210L, 210M, T210M, 210N, T210N, P210N, 210R, T210R, and P210R airplanes. We are superseding an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for Cessna Aircraft Company (Cessna) 150, 152, 170, 172, 175, 177, 180, 182, 185, 188, 190, 195, 206, 207, 210, T303, 336, and 337 series airplanes. That AD currently requires repetitive inspections and replacement of parts, if necessary, of the seat rail and seat rail holes; seat pin engagement; seat rollers, washers, and axle bolts or bushings; wall thickness of roller housing and the tang; and lock pin springs. This new AD requires retaining all of the actions from the previous AD and adding steps to the inspection procedures in the previous AD. This AD was prompted by added steps to the inspection procedures, added revised figures, and clarification of some of the existing steps. We are issuing this AD to prevent seat slippage or the seat roller housing from departing the seat rail, which may consequently cause the pilot/copilot to be unable to reach all the controls. This failure could lead to the pilot/copilot losing control of the airplane.

The FAA is correcting an airworthiness directive (AD) that was published in the Federal Register. That AD applies to the products listed above. In the Information Heading and in the SUMMARY section of the published AD, we incorrectly included Cessna 188 series airplanes. In the Unsafe Condition section, we incorrectly designated that paragraph as (e) instead of (d). Also in the Compliance section, paragraph (f)(2), and in Figure 1, we incorrectly stated the mailing address for the report. We are issuing this document to help eliminate any confusion that this AD may have created in the Information Heading and in the SUMMARY and Unsafe Condition sections. This document corrects those errors. In all other respects, the original document remains the same.
A correction restates part of an AD that was published incorrectly. It is
not an additional requirement and it does not change the AD number or its effective date.

This AD requires you to inspect the alternate static air source selector valve to assure that the part number identification placard does not obstruct the alternate static air source selector valve port. If the part number identification placard obstructs the port, this AD also requires you to remove the placard, assure that the port is unobstructed, and report to the FAA if obstruction is found. This AD results from reports of airplanes found with alternate static air source selector valve port obstruction caused by improper installation of the part number identification placard. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent erroneous indications from the altimeter, airspeed, and vertical speed indicators, which could cause the pilot to react to incorrect flight information and possibly result in loss of control.

The FAA adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that will supersede AD 86-26-04, which applies to certain Cessna Aircraft Company (Cessna) 120, 140, 140A, 150, F150, 170, 172, F172, FR172, P172D, 175, 177, 180, 182, 185, A185E, 190, 195, 205, 205A, 206, P206, P206E, TP206A, TU206, TU206E, U206, U206E, 207, T207, 210, T210, 336, 337, and T337 series airplanes. AD 86-26-04 currently requires you to inspect and, if necessary, modify the pilot/co-pilot upper shoulder harness adjusters that have certain Cessna accessory kits incorporated. This AD is the result of reports that additional airplanes have the same unsafe condition and the manufacturer revised the service information to add these airplanes and correct the part number of the shoulder harness adjusters. Consequently, this AD retains the actions of 86-26-04, adds additional airplanes to the applicability section of this AD, and incorporates the revised service information. We are issuing this AD to prevent slippage of the pilot/co-pilot shoulder harness, which could result in failure of the shoulder harness to maintain proper belt length adjustment and tension. Such failure could result in pilot/co- pilot injury.

This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that applies to certain Cessna Aircraft Company (Cessna) P206, TP206, TU206, U206, 207, T207, 210, P210, and T210 series airplanes. This AD requires you to visually inspect certain horizontal stabilizer attachment reinforcement brackets for the existence of seam welds and replace any reinforcement bracket found without seam welds. This AD authorizes the pilot to check the logbooks to determine whether one of the affected horizontal stabilizer attachment reinforcement brackets is installed. This AD is the result of a report that certain parts were manufactured without seam welds. The actions specified by this AD are intended to detect and replace structurally deficient horizontal stabilizer attachment brackets. Continued use of such brackets could result in structural failure of the horizontal stabilizer with reduced or loss of control of the airplane.

This AD requires measuring the visible length of standpipe (tube) in the top assembly of the fuel strainer assembly for the correct length, and replacing any fuel strainer assembly that does not have the correct length of standpipe. This AD is the result of reports that the fuel strainer assemblies on the affected airplanes were manufactured with the fuel standpipes incorrectly installed in the assembly housing top. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent foreign material from entering the fuel system and engine, which could result in loss of engine power or complete engine stoppage during flight.

This amendment clarifies information contained in Airworthiness Directive (AD) 98-05-14, which currently requires revising the FAA-approved Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) to specify procedures that would prohibit flight in severe icing conditions (as determined by certain visual cues), limit or prohibit the use of various flight control devices while in severe icing conditions, and provide the flight crew with recognition cues for, and procedures for exiting from, severe icing conditions on certain Cessna Aircraft Company (Cessna) Models T210N, P210N, and P210R airplanes. That publication incorrectly references the possibility of certain ice accumulation on the ``lower'' surface of the wing, instead of the ``upper'' surface of the wing while operating with the flaps extended. This incorrect statement may result in pilot misinterpretation of the icing effects with the flaps extended, and lead to an incorrect action. This document replaces the word ``lower'' with ``upper'' in this sentence. The actions specified in this AD are intended to continue to minimize the potential hazards associated with operating these airplanes in severe icing conditions by providing more clearly defined procedures and limitations associated with such conditions.
